UFC 185: Pettis vs Dos Anjos Fight Replay Highlights

UFC 185: Pettis vs Dos Anjos the event held on March 14, 2015 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas on Ulitmate Fighting Championship for Lightweight Championship.

Watch the Fight Replay Highlights.

Alternate:

Lightweight champion Anthony Pettis defends the strap against the multifarious Rafael dos Anjos in the headliner while women's strawweight champion Carla Esparza defends against Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Also on the card: former welterweight champ Johny Hendricks clashes with scrapper Matt Brown, heavyweights Alistair Overeem and Roy Nelson collide, and wrestling phenom Henry Cejudo meets former flyweight title contender Chris Cariaso.

Pettis will defend the Ultimate Fighting Championship lightweight crown against surging Brazilian contender Rafael dos Anjos in the UFC 185 main event on Saturday at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The champion will enter the cage as a significant favorite in the minds of most.

Pettis has looked damn near unbeatable in his last couple of fights. Even when he faces strong wrestlers who try to neutralize him, he is patient and waits for his chances. Dos Anjos has really resurrected his career. He has solid striking, power, good wrestling and great Brazilian jiu-jitsu. With that said, I just don’t see a way dos Anjos beats him unless he lands a KO punch. Stylistically, I see this fight remaining on the feet, and I don’t see anyone at 155 pounds beating Pettis in a kickboxing match. Pettis wins by decision.

Operating out of the Roufusport camp in Milwaukee, Pettis has rattled off five straight wins, four of them finishes. The 28-year-old last appeared at UFC 181 in December, when he became the first man to submit former Strikeforce titleholder Gilbert Melendez, doing the honors with a second-round guillotine choke. One of MMA’s most lethal offensive fighters, Pettis has secured 15 of his 18 career victories by knockout, technical knockout or submission.

Really surprised that nearly everyone is counting Dos Anjos out. He's very well-rounded and has more power than Pettis. He's also very hungry and fights like he has something to prove (see the Diaz fight). I actually think Dos Anjos wins via 2nd rd TKO with some viscious gound and pound.
It's also worth noting that both men lost to Clay Guida, for what that's worth.
